Wedding on Film

Film Photography for your wedding

Hello! If you’ve landed here, it’s probably because you either love film photography, or you’re probably just wondering why people still shoot on film. Let me tell you-you’re in the right place. Film photography is not only something we do at our studio but it is at the heart of everything we create.

Along with running this studio, I teach analog photography at the prestigious Leica Akademie. The Leica Akademie lets me take students through the whole process involved in analog: from the rich history of film to the chemistry behind developing it, to the meditative art of printing in the darkroom. Film photography is not a method but an immersive experience, a philosophy.

Let’s get one thing straight: film isn’t some hipster fad. It’s not about nostalgia for the past. Film is a deliberate, thoughtful way of creating. It slows you down. It makes you focus. When you shoot film, every frame matters-you’re not just spraying and praying. You’re crafting something meaningful with each click of the shutter.

The following portfolio is a collection of some of the shots created in our studio. Each one represents a moment when everything came together perfectly: the scene, the light, the mood. There’s nothing like the depth of black-and-white film. Every image was made with care-from exposure to darkroom.

So why do we stick with film? Because it’s honest. It’s hands-on. It’s uncontrollable in such a way as to make things more exciting, out of control. There’s just something magic in holding a negative in your hand, and you can’t replicate that or watching a print come to life in the developer tray.

Take a look through our work, and if you’re curious about film photography, let’s talk! Whether it’s about cameras, film stocks, or even joining one of my workshops at the Leica Akademie, I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned. Film photography isn’t just a way to take pictures; it’s a way to see the world differently.
